I haven't posted in a seriously long time...my month-long trip with the Tibet Site Seminar didn't provide too many
opportunities for updating my blog. It was a high-speed and intense 30-day jeep trek across central and western Tibet. Much of the time was spent traversing the huge expanses of territory in order to get from one place to the next, travelling on dirt roads and camping along the way. The Site Seminar was quite a serious academic affair,
involving lectures on site by one or more of the
buddhologists, art historians,
architects, and
archaeologists who travelled with us. Here are just two of the more than 5,000 pictures I took over the past month:
